Beniwal Leads Environmental Rally in Barmer to Press for Aravalli Protection
Rajasthan leader Ummedram Beniwal led a rally in Barmer to highlight the urgent need for protection of the Aravalli hills. Joined by local residents and supporters, the march focused on environmental awareness, ecological balance, and the role of conservation in sustainable regional development.
The rally moved through parts of Barmer with participants voicing concern over the long-term impact of environmental degradation on local livelihoods and regional stability. Demonstrators emphasized the importance of conserving the Aravalli range, which plays a critical role in maintaining ecological balance, preventing desertification, and supporting groundwater systems in Rajasthan’s arid zones.
Addressing those gathered, Beniwal underscored that safeguarding the Aravalli hills is not merely an environmental issue but a matter directly linked to sustainable development. He stressed that unchecked damage to the range could have lasting consequences for both the environment and future economic growth in the region. According to him, meaningful conservation efforts are essential to ensure ecological security and balanced development for coming generations.
Organizers of the rally said the primary objective was to raise public awareness and encourage collective responsibility toward environmental protection. The participation of local communities reflected growing concern over ecological challenges and a demand for stronger measures to preserve natural resources.
The rally concluded peacefully, reinforcing calls for sustained attention to environmental conservation in Rajasthan. The event highlighted how grassroots mobilization is increasingly shaping the conversation around environmental policy and regional development, particularly in ecologically sensitive areas like the Aravalli range.
